This manual helps user researchers plan, run and deliver effective user research for Defra services.
Standards, guidance and tools
Defra user researchers follow recognised user research standards, work with their teams to make sure services meet the GDS Service Standard and use approved tools. These are listed below:
Research process
Defra user researchers run scoping workshops and create research plans to build a shared understanding of the problem and ensure research meets programme and stakeholder needs before delivery starts.
Research plans are mandatory for all DDTS user researchers.
Defra user researchers also make sure services work for all users by involving a diverse range of people in research and design.
