Core Delivery Platform
Use the Core Delivery Platform to create, deploy, test and monitor services at Defra.
How it works
The Core Delivery Platform (CDP) is Defra's internal development platform. It provides standardised tools, pipelines and processes so you can build and manage services without depending on separate infrastructure or teams.
It is set up for the way Defra builds government services, so build pipelines, hosting, logging and monitoring are already in place. Teams spend less time standing up infrastructure and working through governance, and get to a live service sooner and at a lower cost.
Because teams build on the same patterns, it is also easier for developers to move between teams and to work across them.
Getting started
If your service adopts CDP, read:
- onboarding considerations to understand what the platform offers
- architectural overview to learn how the platform is built
- how-to documentation to complete common platform tasks
To access the CDP portal, you need to be on a Defra device or connected to the Defra VPN.
